California Landscaping Magazine Awards Yard Fairy Website for "Best Content" in their 2009 Cybersoil Awards

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

November 18, 2009
San Diego, CA--

San Diego landscaping contractor Diane Downey was granted a Cybersoil Award for "Best [Website] Content" as celebrated in the 2009 November/December issue of California Landscaping Magazine. Her low water landscaping website, http://YardFairy.com, beat out 21 other competing websites for its exceptional content that includes organic gardening advice, Smart Irrigation tips and an extensive photo library showcasing her award-winning low water landscaping designs.

California Landscaping Magazine is published by the CLCA (California Landscaping Contractors Association). According to the publication, the CLCA's chosen winner for best content was based on the ability to "tell the company's story through text, images, and client testimonials," as well as "'up the ante' with podcasts, video and more."

Diane, a.k.a. "The Yard Fairy" excels in this category with her up-to-date blog and online newsletter; fresh, informative and engaging articles and endorsements from satisfied clients. She also is a willing social networker, giving readers a way to get to know her via multiple means - her Angel With Dirty Fingernails blog, Facebook and Twitter accounts, and even YouTube where she regularly creates beautiful "slideshow" videos of her garden designs and explorations set to music.

What makes Diane's Downey's landscaping business different from most is that she is totally committed to using and teaching low water landscaping solutions. She is fully certified as a CLCA water manager which means she has a formal program for converting clients' landscapes, bringing them significant savings on water and dollars. She has offered water saving rebates, posted updates on the California greywater laws, shared tips on how to retrofit your irrigation system, advised on drought friendly plants, and much more.

Additionally, she shows her flair for creativity by sharing thoughtfully composed videos of the many exciting events she has attended as a professional landscaper. From her summertime stint as a landscaping judge for the San Diego County Fair, to her October adventures at the Pacific Horticulture Symposium, Diane keeps fans and friends updated with great information and inspiring images, often presented in an easy to view, video format.

Dina Giolitto of http://Wordfeeder.com, who manages The Yard Fairy's monthly marketing, credits Diane for the phenomenal content. "Diane Downey really pours her whole self into making her website a great experience for visitors. Each month, she sends me detailed updates on company happenings, new products, plants and gadgets she's recently sampled, and so much more. She posts to the blog on her own and basically feeds me tons of great info that I help her turn into articles and in-depth reports. The Yard Fairy has a terrific series of free reports coming out covering topics like Smart Irrigation, Landscape Design, Mulch, and other do it yourself landscaping techniques. I'm excited to have helped put these together and can't wait to share them with the public!"

Those who would appreciate receiving low water landscaping tips, ideas, and inspiration should sign up for The Yard Fairy newsletter. The free reports are also available through this means.
